OT - Eagle Cam
Someone posted a bit back the eagle cam link in VA. I've checked it on and
off since. Some bad news. Mother was killed by a plane. Little ones OK but moved so they survive. http://www.wvec.com/my-city/norfolk/US-120702329.html |

There was a show about people who live in the mountains and use Eagles to hunt fox and other small animals for them. The production crew strapped a camera to the back of an Eagle before he was sent off to catch a fox. You could see the head and beak as the Eagle soared off of the mountain, just as if you were sitting on the Eagle's back. It was a really cool shot. |

I was watching a Flying Wild Alaska episode where a bush pilot was involved in a bird strike. The bird was no where to be seen until a split second before the strike. There was no time to avoid it. We've all heard of bird strikes bringing down planes. Do you really think that the pilots would have struck the birds if they had any chance of avoiding them? If a nimble bush plane can't avoid a bird strike, I seriously doubt a US Airways regional jet on approach can. |

If a majestic bird "wanders" into an airport it's OK to exterminate it, but it must be done before the bird begins to nest. Once it begins to nest, the area becomes a "known nesting area" and all flight paths must be changed. Who makes the call as to when the nesting process begins? If they spot the bird before it begins to nest, who gets to exterminate it? |

TGITM- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - "I was referring to those big dumb mutt birds that bring down airplanes., not The Eagles." You don't even know what you wrote. Here, allow me to explain what you said.... First you shouted in your friggin' annoying all-upper-case style: "HOW MANY MAJESTIC BIRDS DO YOU SUPPOSE WILL GET KILLED BEFORE THEY BRING DOWN ANOTHER AIRPLANE?" Then you shouted in your friggin' annoying all-upper-case style: "ALL I AM SAYING IS AIR TRAVEL ROUTES SHOULD BE MORE CONSCIENTIOUS OF THESE BIRDS..." Note your use of the words "these birds". Since there was no other type of birds mentioned, you must have been referring to the "majestic birds", the subject of your previous paragraph. You followed that sentence immediately by shouting in your frigging annoying all-upper-case style: "IF THEY WANDER INTO AN AIRPORT THEN THEY MUST BE EXTERMINATED..." "They" refers to "these" and "these" refers to the "majestic birds", i.e. the eagles. You said it, not me. Besides, even if we gave you the benefit of the doubt and allowed you to convince us that you were talking about "those big dumb mutt birds" and not the eagles, you yourself shouted in your friggin' annoying all- upper-case style: "YOU'RE EITHER FOR THE PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE OR YOU'RE NOT." So, assuming you were talking about "those big dumb mutt birds", I guess you don't consider them to be wildlife since you advocate exterminating them. If the "air travel routes should be more conscientious of these birds" shouldn't that hold true for *all* birds, both mutts and majestics? Either you're for the protection of wildlife or you're not. BTW..how can a "route" be "conscientious"? You really need to work on your English. |

If a nimble bush plane can't avoid a bird strike, I seriously doubt a US Airways regional jet on approach can. THAT's MESSED UP...HOW MANY MAJESTIC BIRDS DO YOU SUPPOSE WILL GET KILLED BEFORE THEY BRING DOWN ANOTHER AIRPLANE ? *MAYBE ITS NATURAL VENGEANCE ;-/ ALL I AM SAYING IS AIR TRAVEL ROUTES SHOULD BE MORE CONSCIENTIOUS OF THESE BIRDS...IF THEY WANDER INTO AN AIRPORT THEN THEY MUST BE EXTERMINATED OR REMOVED SOMEHOW TO PROTECT PEOPLE,, BUT PLANES SHOULD NOT FLY OVER KNOWN EAGLE GROUNDS & NESTING AREAS. TGITM- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - "ALL I AM SAYING IS AIR TRAVEL ROUTES SHOULD BE MORE CONSCIENTIOUS OF THESE BIRDS..." You are full of bird crap. That isn't all you are saying. You also shouted in your friggin' annoying all-upper-case style that you agree that the pilot should be fined and charged. That ranks right up there with the rest of the stupid things you shout about. Let's see if I've got this right... OH SHUT UP FOOL...YOU'RE EITHER FOR THE PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE OR YOU'RE NOT. I was referring to those big dumb mutt birds that bring down air planes., not The Eagles. STOP PESTERING YOURSELF ABOUT METHOD...YOU WILL NOT WIN. YOU NEED TO STOP ASSUMING I NEED TO WORK ON ANYTHING....THE ROUTE IS CONSCIENTIOUS BY DESIGN...WHO DESIGNS OR DESIGNATES AN AIR ROUTE ??? TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS??? YOU??? GOD BLESS, LET THE DEVIL REJOICE. IF AN ANIMAL SMALL OR BEASTLY IS CAUSING LOSS OF HUMAN LIFE....THEN YES EXTERMINATE THE VARMINTS THEY ARE MURDERERS....IT IS CALLED SURVIVAL. HUMANE IS NOTHING IF NOT A CAUSE OF HAPPINESS AND WELLNESS FOR HUMANS. TGITM In your friggin' annoying all-upper-case style, you yelled: IT IS CALLED SURVIVAL. Ah yes, survive...something it's a miracle (and a shame) that you have managed to do. |
