cell socket turns a standard phone into a cell phone.

these come standard in many current security systems, yo may be able
to get a monitored alarm system for about the price of a monthly call
phone billl, probably because alarm companies can buy cell service in
bulk

They are widely available either to retrofit to an existing alarm
system or as an add-on for newer panels. Can be used as
the only connection or as backup for phone landline. Google
cellular alarm monitoring and you'll find companies that
do the alarm monitoring and what eqpt they are compatible
with.

www.telular.com has great stuff.

You'll need a security dealer to monitor cellular communicators.

Ask in alt.security.alarms for better answers than you'll get here.

This is not something you want to Gerry-rig.
