If we Americans think it gets cold in The States, look at what our
Russian cousins put up with. :-) http://www.webpark.ru/uploads54/1101...ivators_15.jpg This could be Russia or our Plains, not sure but it's bad. http://www.webpark.ru/uploads54/1101...ivators_16.jpg TDD |

Where I was, winter was a decent roofing time for some. I haven't seen the roof here in a couple of months. |

Where I was, winter was a decent roofing time for some. I haven't seen the roof here in a couple of months. Haven't seen much of mine here in SW MI, either, since the 48-hour thaw at New Year's. But that is a good thing. After blowing the driveway clean at dawn at -11F, I drove down to the gas station to get the papers. Most of the neighbors had bare spots showing on the roof, but mine was a solid blanket of snow. That attic insulation seems to be doing the job it is supposed to. I haven't been up that way is some years, but it's really pretty. We lived in the BTV area until 2007. Glad to be gone, in more ways than one. It's 36F now, with an anticipated low of 30F and a high tomorrow of 55F and my property tax is less than 1/4 what it was in Essex. Oh, and we have a decent football team. ;-) |

The closest thing to local football going on here in VT right now is me kicking myself in the ass. |

The airport, 5mi away as the crow flies, showed -13. I thought mine was wacked out this morning. Looked on Weather Underground. The surrounding personal stations and MADIS locations 1mi away were in line with mine. Seemed it took very little distance away from the airport (and lake) for large variations. |

I just looked at our bill, $.08/kWh vs. $.13 (I understand it's $.16 now) in VT. Good thing, we have a heat pump. |
