removing a toilet flange.. ?
Hi,
i am trying to replace a broken/rusted flange. and i think it is made of plastic. It is glued to the a PVC pipe (black) - which is the sewer pipe. what are the methods to remove the old flange ? i can see if i can put in a hack saw and saw the flange - but then i will be taking out part of the sewer pipe with it too.. are there any other methods ?? thanks, +ravi |

Before you decide to replace it, check out places like Ace Hardware, Home
Depot, or Lowes and look for a metal ring that just goes over the old broken one. They make them for broken flanges. "Ravi" wrote in message ... Plastic doesn't rust. You're sure it's plastic? |

Plastic doesn't rust. You're sure it's plastic? the flange itself was made of plastic - but the nuts and everything around it rusted. Upon removal, i find out that the flange itself is broken - so the toilet bolts couldn't stick. I sawed off the whole top of the flange and then inserted a new flange and bolted it down using a flange ring too. see: http://tinyurl.com/yd3ow8l thanks for all your ideas ! +ravi |
