A mix of facts and fiction. For openers, WD-40 has NO fish oil in it.

You can extrapolate the accuracy of the rest of the nonsense from
that.

CAN IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS ?

A lady got up very early one morning and went outside to pickup the
Sunday paper; she noticed someone had sprayed red paint all around
the sides of the neighbor's brand new beige truck. She went over
and woke him up and gave him the bad news. He was, of course
extremely upset.

They stood there trying to figure out what could be done about the
problem. They decided there wasn't much recourse but to wait until
Monday, since nothing was open. Just then another neighbor came out
of his house, surveyed the situation and immediately went to get his
WD-40 and cleaned the red paint off with it. Guess What! It cleaned
up that paint without harming the original paint on the truck! I'm
impressed!!

Water Displacement #40. The product began from a search for A rust
preventative solvent and de greaser to protect Missile parts. WD- 40
was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket
Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a
'water displacement' compound. They were successful with the
fortieth formulation, thus WD-40.. The Corvair Company bought it in
bulk to protect their atlas missile parts.

Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in
WD-40 that would hurt you...' IT IS MADE FROM FISH OIL' . When you
read the 'shower door' part, try it. It is the first thing that has
ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it
works just as well as glass. It is a miracle! Then try it on your
stovetop... It is now shinier than it has ever been before.

laundry, saturate the lipstick spots with WD-40 and Presto! Lipstick
is gone!
43) If you spray WD-40 on the distributor cap, it will displace the
moisture and allow the car to start.

Keep a can of WD-40 in your kitchen cabinet. It is good for oven
burns or any other type of burn. It takes the burned feeling away
and heals with NO scarring.

Remember, the basic ingredient is FISH OIL. --- i.e. Omega-6, touted
to do wonders with your body !!

Yes, that's one of the many uses of turpentine.

WD40 is a great solvent. The stovetop hood in my last apartment was
caked with grease so bad when I moved in that no household cleaning
agent would touch it. I had some WD40, but no turpentine, mineral
spirits, acetone, or other solvents on hand. Sprayed it on heavy and
let it soak for a couple of hours. The grease wiped right off.

A mix of facts and fiction. For openers, WD-40 has NO fish oil in it.

You can extrapolate the accuracy of the rest of the nonsense from
that.

Right Its mineral spirits and light oil mostly. It will not affect
fast drying enamel paints on a car, but don't let it sit too long. Its
been hinted that it contains some silicone's. It was banned at one
time by some US Air force on wings cause it caused cracks. I always
like using it as a flame thrower for killing insect nests and weeds.
The canned version has no propellant and is safer around car paint. It
does NOT displace water. It floats on water, but on electric circuits
it will displace water by flowing around on the flat surface. For more
info especially on contact cleaners see my page.....

I spray it on the cheap fiber type of HVAC filters, let the filter set
out in sun a couple of hours to remove volatile residue then put them
back into the box until needed. The 50 cent filter now works as good
as the $3.00 filter.
