that he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning the nomination,
and withdraws from the race, or his equally loony supporters wake up some

Ron Paul knows he can't win. He's in the race for one of three reasons:

1. He's running an "educational" campaign - using a large megaphone to get
out his message.
2. Profit. Not all the money that's coming in needs to go out.
3. Pride - he thrives on the adoration.

His supporters, however, are in the race because so doing gives meaning to
their own pitiful lives.
