Default Scorched hardwood floor

Help! Electric heater tipped over and scorched some boards
on hardwood floor. I caught it before it went too deep, but have
no idea how to remove the scorch. Your advice welcome!

You probably can't do it without refinishing the floor. If it's just
the floor finish that got scorched, you're lucky. You can scrape or
sand it, then do a touch-up patch of the floor finish. If the wood is
scorched, you'll either have to sand, scrape or bleach the wood - the
last being the most difficult to control and the least likely to give
results that will blend in with the rest of the floor.

Another alternative for the OP is replacement of the scorched boards.
