Help! Electric heater tipped over and scorched some boards
on hardwood floor. I caught it before it went too deep, but have no idea how to remove the scorch. Your advice welcome! |

You probably can't do it without refinishing the floor. If it's just the floor finish that got scorched, you're lucky. You can scrape or sand it, then do a touch-up patch of the floor finish. If the wood is scorched, you'll either have to sand, scrape or bleach the wood - the last being the most difficult to control and the least likely to give results that will blend in with the rest of the floor.
