Waltec Diverter

I have two showers that have Waltec diverters. Recently, I have noticed
that water is coming out of the tub spout as well as the shower head. Does
anyone have suggestions as to how to repair them or should I replace them.
Is there any trick to ensure that water only comes out of the shower head?
