Another tile question - thinset color and marble
I'm using 12"x12" marble tiles for walls and floors. A small part of the
tile is translucent so does it make any difference if white or gray thinset is used? In other words, would the mortar color go through once the thinset is cured? |

But, to answer your question - You would be better off with white than gray if the tile is transparent, but it shouldn't matter much if it is only translucent. JK |

Another poster mentioned the concern about marble and water-based adhesives. As far as I know the only marbles that curl with water are black and green (not all of them, just from certain parts of the world). You should always ask if there are any special considerations with a particular stone, whether during installation or maintenance, when you purchase the stone. The big box store may or may not know, the tile store will. R |
