Default Roper Washing Machine

I have a Roper Washing Machine that during either the fill on the wash
cycle or on the rinse cycle, that decides to drain in the middle of
filling, it drains all of the water completely and the machine
continues to attempt to fill.

The drain hose is looped about 1 foot above the back of the washer.
From there the drain hose then dumps into the drain.

Any ideas what may be wrong?

thanks
willy

If your washer is draining while it is filling, and you hear no motor
sound, then your washer is siphoning out; the termination of your drain
hose is too low.

Thank you for the reply. How low should the termination be?

thanks again

You probably have the drain hose shoved way too far down the drain
pipe. Your drain pipe should be around waist height, and the drain
hose shouldn't stick more than 6" or so into it. But in reality,
whatever stops the siphoning is fine. If you can't adjust the drain
hose for whatever reason, there are anti-siphon assemblies for purchase
that will cancel siphoning, but why add one if you don't really need it.
