FluidMaster Valve not filling tank
The subject says it all.
Toiletbowl flushes, flap opens, drops down, bowl clears, but Fluid Master is silent. I find that if either I tap it, twist it, or otherwise manipulate it, it will work once and fill the tank properly. After that, it's on strike again. Any way to fix it, or is this a throw it way - DIY job? |

Maybe the float is sticking, the plastic thing shaped like a soup can
that slides up and down. Easy to replace about $20 |

FluidMaster Valve not filling tank
Fluidmaster has a pretty complete troubleshooting FAQ on their website.
Hunt it down and take a look. Worse case scenario replace the whole set-up as mentioned for a couple of sawbucks. |

Easy to do kits are less than $10 at home depot, you may wish to make sure
the valve on the toilet supply line completely cuts off the water before beginning in case you run into problems and don't want the whole house to be without water. Any way to fix it, or is this a throw it way - DIY job? Don't these twist out and twist back in? They changed models about 20 years ago, but if yours is less old than that, you buy the whole thing but only use the part that twists out. Turn off the water first. |
