HELP - EMERGENCY Chemical spill

My husband is not home and I just had a bottle of laundry detergent
fall off a shelf onto the floor. The bottle broke and there is about
a half gallon of detergent on the floor. What should I do? Should I
call the fire department or something? I threw some dirty towels in
it to sort of absorb it. I can just throw them away. This is really
slippery and the cat ran thru it too, so now I am worried the cat will
get sick and die. Please reply ASAP. I guess I need to wash the cat
first.

Its called OXY laundry detergent.

Molly,

First, wash your pussy, since it got in the detergent and is probably
slippery. Next, go back down stairs, remove all your clothes. Now, roll
around in the spilled detergent. Repeat step #1.

Then don't wash your pussy. Liquid detergent makes a pretty good lubricant.
When your husband gets home roll around in the puddle with him. It's called
'taking advantage of a bad situation'.

Scrub your pussy first.

Wipe up the detergent with the towels. Throw them away.

Celebrate by sitting in a quiet room and pet your pussy for the rest of the
evening.

F**k you people.
I called the fire department
At least they helped and no one was hurt.
The cat is at the vets office getting decontaminated. She will have
to stay overnight but should be ok.

Next time I need emergency help I wont waste my time on here.

Mop it up and rinse off the cat. Good grief.

Why throw good CLEAN towels AWAY???

Rinse and dry them- they've just been washed with detergent.

And mop up the floor. The cat probably had a great time
playing in the suds, I know mine loves playing in my messes.

Now if you spilled a gallon of antifreeze, you have a mess
to clean up, throw away the towels, and put the cat out.
Still no need to call the FD, unless the cat drank it.

Pick up a first aid book, every home should have one. Read
it occassionally, so you know what to expect before an
emergency does strike.

you can do it!

The other answers you got pretty well cover dealing with the emergency.
For the future, do not store your detergent in liquid nitrogen; at room
temperature the plastic bottles should survive a fall without breaking.

Puh-leeze, you're dumb enough to panic because you spilled some SOAP. Wipe
it up and move on.

not only would I not throw the towels away but I'd set them aside and throw
one in with each bunch of wash I do for the next little while. I think I
just invented Laundry detergent rags. I'd hate to see what she does when she
spills bleach....
