furnace continually clicks
When our gas furnace lights, it clicks until it lights, then continues
to click for about 2 minutes after it has lighted, then stops clicking. Is this a problem, or normal? Of course if it's a problem, what is the problem and how to fix? -Thanks KJ |

KJ,
You are probably hearing the electronic spark ignition. It puts out a couple of clicks per second, or rather sparks to light the pilot flame. How long it goes on for varies with the furnace. Since its a gas fired appliance and has the potential to blow your family and house sky-high, it's a good idea to a have a certified specialist check it out and give it a yearly inspection. Call it peace of mind. Dave In article .com, wrote: When our gas furnace lights, it clicks until it lights, then continues to click for about 2 minutes after it has lighted, then stops clicking.
