covered porch
i currently have a deck off the back of my house. wife wants to put an
overhang on it and next year planning to screen it in and eventually glass. for the overhead beams can i lag a 2x10 to the sill plate of the 2nd floor or do i need to go into the floor joists? |

Here lagging to the sill using fender washers would be fine if you then used the proper galvanized hangers to support your joists. YMMV and you should check local codes before starting the project. Local snow and wind load calculations may require something different. Colbyt |
