New Gas Forced Hot Air Furnace Quest's: Filter Brand, And Furn. Sizing ?
Hello:
Have two questions regarding a contemplated new gas forced hot air furnace. a. Regarding the Filter for the furnace: Anyone have any opinions on the Air Bear brand of filters vs the Dynamic Filters Company ones, which are apparently an electrostatic type ? Pros and cons ? b. Realize there are a zillion variables involved such as insulation, windows, house orientation, etc., and that a Manual J is really required, but was wondering if there is a generally accepted, very approximate, rule-of-thumb "yardstick" for furnace size in BTU/hr ? Perhaps as a function of house square footage per level ? Would be for a typical multi/split level in northern New England Thanks, Bob |
