Default PUR Water Filter

Hi,

I have a faucet mounted PUR water filter and am wondering if anyone
knows if there's a problem with reusing a filter once the device
"turns in off"? We've tried tracking down a water testing kit - so
far no luck - so if you've got any ideas, I'd be open to that, too.
There seems to be no difference in taste between the first use and
second use of the filter. Is PUR just using this auto shut-off as a
way to make sure they sell more filters, or do they really not work
properly after one use? Also, how reliable is the NSA certification?
If you can't give me the answers, can you direct me to where I can get
them. I'm just not sure who to trust as to what's in my drinking
water!

Thanks

Gaby
