Short garage door opener needed / problem
The house I have purchased has caused me problems when installing my
garage door opener. There has been an opener installed here before, however, I only have 118" (9'10") from the wall above my door, to the beam that run parrallel to my door. All of the openers I have looked at require 120-124" to install on my 16'x7' door. I am look for a solution to modify one of these units, or be pointed to the direction to find one that will fit in my location. Thank you for your help. |

Thank you for your help. how bout a 2x6 or 2x8 fastened with 1/4 inch lag screws perpendicular to your 'beam', also screwed to adjacent 'beams' (prolly ceiling joists). This would put solid wood at the 120-`124 inch distance from the top of your door. Fasten the opener to the new wood. |
