RF Signals
Hi,
Do RF Signals travel through water? Or, do i have to try and place the chip above the water? Thanks Michael |

Depends a whole lot on your application and the spectrum limits you attempt
to function within. "Himszy" wrote in message ... Hi, Do RF Signals travel through water? Or, do i have to try and place the chip above the water? Thanks Michael |

Depends on the frequency of the radio waves and how pure the water is.
Submarines receive extremely low frequency signals by trailing a long wire antenna behind them. However, as a rule, I would think for the most part that you could basically consider water (especially conductive salt-water) to be radio-wave opaque. But for a toy sub in a fresh-water swimming pool, maybe you could use RF if it was over very short distances.
