Default RF Signals

Hi,

Do RF Signals travel through water? Or, do i have to try and place the chip
above the water?

Thanks Michael

Depends a whole lot on your application and the spectrum limits you attempt
to function within.

Depends on the frequency of the radio waves and how pure the water is.
Submarines receive extremely low frequency signals by trailing a long wire
antenna behind them. However, as a rule, I would think for the most part
that you could basically consider water (especially conductive salt-water)
to be radio-wave opaque. But for a toy sub in a fresh-water swimming pool,
maybe you could use RF if it was over very short distances. Sound travels
really well through water --- how about a system based on sound?
