Default Is it possible to swap a camcorder viewfinder into a similar model?

Just wondering if the input voltage required for both EVF are the same
(usually 5volts) than could a EVF which has a different circuit board
be actually connected to another camcorder? Regardless of physical
appearance.

Your ideas would be welcome.Thanks

Jim,
What make and models are you talking about switching. Sonys I've played
with in the CCD-V or CCD-TR series are pretty much as you describe.
Look for an earlier post here about someone wanting to power one up
independently and use it as a mini tv. The pinouts were in that thread.

There's essentially two types, one that uses ordinary composite video, and
another that uses separate sync and video lines. So long as it's the same
general type it should work if you can figure out the wiring.
