Hello,
I think the power rectifier is out on my receiver. I found a NTE5312 rectifier. Does anyone know if this can be used as a direct replacement? Also, where can you get manufacture replacement parts for this receiver? Regards, Terry |

Kenwood parts can be had from East Coast Transistor Parts, 800-645-3516.
Many parts for this model would not be available, since it's about 20 years old, but Kenwood is pretty good about parts availability. There's an excellent chance your rectifier could be replaced with a generic type, but I've no idea about your NTE sub. What is the purpose in this circuit? Is it a good physical replacement? What are the NTE specs? All these should be considered. Techs make these choices all the time. DIY and shade-tree types may be more prone to mistakes. Mark Z. Gabbie:
Before you jump through too many hoops here..... do you know for certain that the "rectifier" is "out" ? Have you tested it ? -- Best Regards, Daniel Sofie Electronics Supply & Repair - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Gabbie" wrote in message news:ebnyd.3900$h.308@trnddc04... Power rectifiers usually short, causing the main power fuse to blow. Once
in a while a section of a bridge will open and a hum will be heard in the speakers. If you are in doubt about the rectifier being bad, it is probably okay. Check the plus and minus voltage at the large filter capacitors to ground, if they are equal, the rectifier is okay. If you need that rectifier though, just replace it with something having a higher amp rating, and at least 200 piv, the higher the better. Very few items in that receiver will require a Kenwood part. |
