I just got a Samsung pcn5425r rear projection tv. The upper assembly was
removed from the bottom. It also came with two screens, a fresnel looking screen, and a clear one. They were taped together. I got the tv together and got the convergence really really close. I have sharp text and sharp picture. However, the three colors, RGB, are separate from each other, so I get a screen that is basically split into thirds, one for each color. I can also see the reflection of the guns through the screen. Any help would be appreciated. I am not a repair tech, just a wannabe. |

Sounds like the electronics are probably fine, now you must have something wrong with the way the screen itself is put together, either that or you're missing a piece. |

The top of the set was just the shell, with mirror still attached, and
the two pieces of screen, which I sandwiched together. Would there be anything else in there? |

you said there were two pieces, a fresnel and a clear one? there should be one
with small parallel vertical stripes on one side; it goes between the fresnel and the clear one. Also, the fresnel may be backwards; some mount the grooved surface twoards the CRT's, and some facing the lenticular (striped) lens. |

Also, if the "Lenticular" is installed upside down it will affect the
quality of the picture. I'd bet that you only have either the "Fresnal" and "Protector" screens or only the "Lenticular" and "Protector". As posted there should be all three. Fressnal inside towards the Mirror, Lenticular with the ribs toward the viewer, and the Protector on the outside. If there are any small white paper tags on the screens they should be at the lower left corner. Thanks for the reply to everybody. I believe I may in fact be missing a
screen, the lenticular as you said. Do you know where I could get such a screen?? "Art" wrote in message ...
