Default Portable CD player problem

Hi all,

I have a problem with my Sharp portable CD player / radio. All my CD's are
skipping. I've cleaned the lens but I think it's probably a motor /
mechanical problem. When I play a disc a track will play for a few moments
and then the disc will stop spinning and come back to life again.

I think its probably had it. I was just wondering if anybody knows what the
life of a portable CD player actually is? I listen to CD's on this player
when i'm working in the office. I've played it constantly every other week
for over 2 years. I reckon its played over 2000 hours of music.

Is it worth buying a lens cleaner or is it most likely mechanical?
