Have you tried Sony or any of Sony's authorized parts distributors?

Yes I have tried Sony but their answer is that as the TV s now 7 years old they
can't help as they only carry spares up to six years old. seems very
unreasonable as the TV is a six thousand dollar set. I guess you should find out
these things before you buy one. any other help would be very much
appreciated....Peta**

So why hasn't anyone repaired the B1 board to the component level?
Tv sets are generally not circuit board level repair any longer.
More than likely Sony has all the individual parts available for the board
for a qualified technician to perform the repairs to the component level.

Dear David thank you for trying to help.
The problem is that the B1 board is missing from the TV set. To repair down to
component level would assume that Sony would supply a printed circuit board
which they say they do not have.
Once again thank you for trying to help me....Peta**
