This TV is from 1988, and I realize may not be worth the effort but it is in
a very nice wood cabinet and belongs to my parents neighbor, who helps then out allot. The problem is the audio will take about an hour after the set is turned on before it will work. It comes on gradually, first some garbled audio, that the audio seems to cycle at a one or two second rate in and out, then comes on fine. I don't think it is a cracked solder joint because I probed around during the warn up time with no luck. I don't have the service info, but it looks like it is still available, and there is very little markings on the board to help. What I am hoping is someone will remember if this problem was a common failure and offer a clue. I have not pulled the set yet because it is there main TV, they just turn it on in the morning and it runs all day. The picture is still pretty good. I looked up the IC numbers and some are still available. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks -- Tony Marsillo Nutmeg Repair ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
