Dell Latitude CPi A
Hi.
I have an old Dell Latitude CPi A which has a problem that I can't seem to fix. The Dell powers up ok, spins up the drives, flashes in the 3 diodes (caps lock etc. etc.) and then.... nothing..... The display does not power up. After a while ~ 20 seconds, the machine turns off (the power indicator goes black) I have tried to connect an external monitor, but with no luck. I hope that someone in here has an advice on where to look for the problem. Henrik |

The chip is about 1cm square, in a brown socket. This has fix has worked on a few for me! -k |

The Dell powers up ok, spins up the drives, flashes in the 3 diodes (caps lock etc. etc.) and then.... nothing..... That's not good . This indicates that either the memory has failed or the CPU , or the chipset. Maybe you could try removing the memory sticks one by one and see if it starts to work each time .
