dell laptop won't boot
I have a dell CPX laptop which was working fine. Now the laptop won't boot.
Not beeps, no noises, no lcd light. The only thing I notice is that the the green light on the ac power brick fades out when I try to power up the laptop. I am assuming that this may be some type of short, but don't want to rule out any other possibilities. Does anyone out there have any experience with this type of thing. Thanks in advance, this newsgroup has been very helpful to me. |

I have also borrowed another adapter from a friend. The same thing occurs so
I am assuming the problem does not lie in the adapter. I have a dell CPX laptop which was working fine. Now the laptop won't boot. Not beeps, no noises, no lcd light. dell laptop won't boot
I would have the battery checked out, noticed on a few laptops that is the
battery is dead they will not fire up from the power adaptor. Try it with the battery out. Cheers Tony.. "carl" wrote in message ... I have a dell CPX laptop which was working fine. dell laptop won't boot
Hi Carl,
I had the same problem with a Dell laptop, and it turned out in my case to be a cooked CPU. I also guessed the fading light on the PSU indicates a short somewhere in the laptop, it stopped dimming once I replaced the CPU (and booted up as well Luckily parts for Dell laptops are quite plentiful on eBay, most of the time. Hope this helps. -- -- Remove the extra ".ns" when replying to email "carl" wrote in message ... I have a dell CPX laptop which was working fine. Now the laptop won't boot.
