LCD tape connector
I have a couple devices (calculator & CD player) that exhibit the same
problem of missing digit segments. The connection to the LCD is not a zebra strip, but rather a type of tape with the traces on it. I can make segments come and go by working that tape, but I can't get them to stay. Has anyone had any luck repairing these? I hate to peal it loose as I figure that I would never get it to stick properly again. But maybe that's the solution? WT |

WT I would try reticulated foam (sounds more impressive than kitchen pan scourer) folded-up/ wedged-in /compressed against the casing. -- Diverse Devices, Southampton, England electronic hints and repair briefs , schematics/manuals list on http://home.graffiti.net/diverse:graffiti.net/ |
