B & D toaster oven fix
Hi
I have one of these with the mechanical timer for toasting but it kept stopping and letting the toast burn. Thinking it might be the switch jamming I first tightened the two mounting screws but determined this made it worse. After pulling the timer and trying it outside the machine, and having it work well, I found the problem upon reassembly. The mounting bracket attached to the front of the timer is spaced away from it about 3/16" and the mounting screws were long enough to come all the way through and press on the timer and evidently distort it to the point where it wouldn't keep ticking. A pair of #4 flat washers on each screw were ok to space them away from the timer and now it works fine. Very frustrating making toast and not daring to turn away from the thing. Hope this helps anyone thinking of just tossing one of these. Bill |
