Cd Player Problems
Hi all I am new here so hope that I am posting this in the correct
place. I have recently bought a more modern car ( fiesta mk5) and I am having an issue with CD playback. The Cd will play fine for sometimes 20 or more mins and will then turn itself off without warning. If I then try and turn the player on the on/off button does not appear to function. However five to 10 mins later it will come on for few seconds then turn off again. When I got the car the battery was very low. This has improved since I have been driving it. Could this be the cause of the cd playback problems? The cd player model is a 6000 rds cd E.O.N. Any of your thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Gardnjam |

Cd Player Problems
Hi!
The Cd will play fine for sometimes 20 or more mins and will then turn itself off without warning. When I got the car the battery was very low. I would say there is a distant possibility that a deeply discharged battery could cause this problem. The average alternator can require a long time to fully charge a low battery. During this time, the quality of power coming from the vehicle's electrical system can vary widely. How old is the battery? It could be worn out. It would also be a good idea to check for loose contacts, fuses or other radio related wiring. Check the speaker wiring--if it is shorting out, it could cause the radio to shut down to protect the power amplifier. William |

I beleive I have now found the reason for my problems. The front of the cd player fascia appears to have a loose connection. When I press it in it turns back on again. Cheers I'm now heading in the right direction to solving problem |
