Child lock again .
I posted this before but everyone thought i was 10 years old :-)
The lady brought the tv here . Magnavox 27M53435 She was watching it one day and with the remote ( now missing ) she had managed to hit the child lock feature and the set would no longer power on . When plugged in now i can hear the speaker pop and the red power light is on but no tv . I went through the chassis quickly and its clean and no typical-usual parts are bad . I found a Philips remote & dont know if it matches ( should ? ) and tried holding buttons down with no luck . Help ! |

Way down near the bottom of this page you'll find a convoluted solution involving the use of a generic remote. Search the page for the word "solution" and you'll find it. http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load...572015185.html Take care. Ken |

Child lock again .
Thanks . I found the info that basically ran me through the use of code
search with a universal remote to power the set back on . In this case it did not work . The lady said the set worked till she hit child lock . Why she lost the original remote is beyond me . |

Doesn't everyone know that instructions are included to be used only as an absolute last resort? Sheesh, needed to adjust my snowblower drive wheel a couple of weeks ago. Went straight to where I keep manuals, and found it within 60 seconds. Dated 1971 I'm curious how Ken G reported it didn't work so quickly, though. The site I pointed him to said that it took about two days to find success, yet Ken G replied back a mere few hours later that it didn't work. Dunno. Take care. Ken |
