Information Needed. PTK195M1T
I was given an RCA 61" projection tv, model # P61927 and the chassis #
is PTK195M1T, because it no longer works. It looks like the coolant has leaked from one or all of the crts. I have cleaned all of the residue off of the main pcb and off of the large pcb to the right of it, don't know what it is called. I had to replace Q14401 / Q401 because it was shorted, marked as C5148 replaced with NTE2234. Now when it is turned on I here a hiss from the lopt / flyback. The blue CRT doesn't light up and the picture is bowed at the top and the bottom is not recognizable. The convergence is also way off. I need to know how to check the level of the coolant and how to know if it is at a proper level. What voltages should I see at the B, C , E for Q14401 / Q401? How do I test the lopt / flyback? What cables have to be plugged in to avoid frying something while testing? How do I test the Blue CRT to see if it is it or if it is what drives it? Any other tips or information I should know? |

Two ways --
1. Pull the light box and look into the CRT or -- 2. Take the screen off and look into the CRT. Myself I would pull the light box and examine the CRT's to see how much leak out, then check you're power supply again. Pull the convergence power supply board and check to see if coolant leak on it. More than likely it has and shorted something on the board. The convergence pcb is located to right and again check under all componets. Coolant is like water and it runs everywhere so check under all the components where it leak. I had a Mitsubishi not long ago leak on the board and found coolant under the jungle IC. Best regards |

On the 195,s the coolant gets under the eprom and also micro...not to metion
the C/C socket... pull them all and clean thats the first thing you do with these. kip "Motorman" wrote in message news:Q4Irg.1711$Wh7.1686@trnddc07... Two ways -- 1. PS: it is best wash about 1/3 of the circuits (along the audio amp, micro and eeprom, regulators and vertical IC). Final rinse with distrilled water then speed dry with plenty of 99% alochol. Let it dry throughly or speed drying with hair dryer. Also check the convergence board as well, may have the coolant there. Cheers, Wizard |
