Victim of power surge. Picture and tuner fine, but no audio. Responds
to inputs for Mute and volume normally on screen. Ideas?

May not be a power surge, some T.V.'s use a hybrid IC sound module
# SBX-1637-11. Especially if you have some scratchy sound. Look here

Lightning took out irrigation control centers, a DTV receiver, and a
DSL modem on the same day, so pretty sure it was as power surge. My
SAMS circuit trace for the chassis doesn't match with the MTS decoder.
Should toss the old beast, but have seen it through the electrolytic
cap issue, the poor solder connection issue, and a failed regulator.
Great picture, hate to let it go.
