Default RCA CD recorder questions

RCA CDRW121 home cd component unit .

Problem . The record side takes the disk , spins it . It makes a series
of mechanical clicking sounds , quiets then repeats that 4 or 5 times
then displays ``no disk``

The play side of this 2 tray unit plays fine .

What i have done. Removed the CDR unit . Cleaned the lens and glass
piece under the lens ( much like cleaning a ps2 ) Checked the plastic
gears and pulled & reseated all cables in it . Tested voltages as marked
on the power supply board plug going to the CDR .

Questions . Would it be the circuit board in the cdr drive or the laser
assembly or which one should it be more likely ( probably a dumb
question )

Would a CDR drive be avaiable for this . It looks like standard computer
type plugs on it . And the cost of the part-s ?

Thanks
