1981 Pioneer laserdisc. This thing has been working perfectly since I
got it years ago but last night it just went to static in the middle of a movie. Now when push play the disc never budges, it just pauses and the head moves a little and goes straight to eject/lid pops open. I pulled the cover off and the fuses look ok and stuck a screwdriver in the lid latch and the laser seems to be working just fine. Can see the laser head move a little before it rejects with no disc in it. I thought these had a belt in them somewhere but I guess not, looks like the motor drives the spindle directly? Something tells me this thing has played it's last movie. Any sugestions? thanks |
