Yes. Remove the upper case, and pull the rubber dampers from the mechanism
corners VERY CAREFULLY. Disconnect the copper grounding strap. Remove the 2
springs on either end of the mech holding it to the frame. CAREFULLY rotate
the mech up 90 deg so the loading slot is facing up, be careful not to tear
the flexible PCB that connects the CD core unit to the extension PCB. Once
you have flipped the unit up, unlock one end of the flexible PCB (White
ribbon-type cable) and you can remove the mech. Once you have the mech out
look and see if a CD is in the loaded position. If not, simply unlock the
magazine with the white lever underneath it. If a CD IS loaded, disconnect
the other flexible PCB from the moving stage mechanism to prevent damage to
the motor controller IC and use a 9v battery to operate the loading motor
until the CD is retracted into the magazine. Then unlock the magazine with
the lever.
Extreme caution must be used if you ever want to use the unit again, they
are not difficult to repair but are highly sensitive to bent parts. If you
don't feel comfortable working on it I can remove the CD's and give you a
repair estimate for $15.00 if you're in the US.
