Default Pioneer DV 355 Optical Drive

Hi there.

I have a Pioneer DV 355 DVD player that shows the symptoms of a failing
Optical pickup assembly.
Would someone know the part number or required details for replacement Laser
unit for this model.

I'm taking it that Pioneer use these drives through out most of there bottom
of the line players.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Ren

According to Pioneer, this is not a valid model number.

They have a DV-353K, DV-353S, and DV-354.

Well, if it's the same as the DV-353, the pickup part number is OXX8003
That's the letter, "O" (not zero) XX zero zero 3). About 70.00 plus freight
in the US. A dealer or authorized servicer would get a discount.

There are adjustments that are supposed to be made after replacement, but in
my experience it is sufficient just to reset the adjustment screws at the
ends of the rails to exactly the same height as before. Besides, there is a
special adjustment remote control which is only available at the factory.

Pioneer pickups are pretty reliable, though. Exactly what are your symptoms?
Has there been a proper cleaning? Spindle motor tested?
