You know what a pain it can be if you're trying to lay laminate
flooring around some large, non-linear fixed object like a sink or toilet pedastal. All that data point measuring! I had an idea the other day that works great. Get a length of solder wire (thicker the better) and use it to wrap around the shape. The solder is pliable enough to mold to the curves yet stiff enough to retain the shape when removed. Then just lay it on your stock and trace. FoggyTown |

Take some paper and cut it out to match the curves. You can just kinda press it into place to find the edges, then cut it out. Then put some double stick tape on the laminate, put the paper in it's proper place, dry fit, and the paper sticks to the laminate ready to be cut out. |
