Default Avenger or Dadonator???

Yet another request from someone looking for advice on dado blades. I
saw the web sites for both the Dadonator and the Avenger 42t and for the
$100 dollar difference I'm torn. Do I get the Dadonator or purchase the
Avenger and spend the rest on more tools, wood, etc..??
Does anyone have either of these two sets and how do you like it's use?
Thanks,
Barry

I have the avenger. I don't use it much but it works for what I've asked
it to do. Had to drop the speed on my Grizzly with new pulleys - which I
was planning to do anyway, but note the speed rating on both of them. The
dadonator is probably rated for a much higher speed.

One guy here not long ago said he was really displeased with the cuts he
was getting with his.

Lots of folks have said the avenger set needs a professional sharpening
right out of the box. I'm looking for a good sharpening service right
now.

I bought the avenger because I didn't have the extra hundred and I needed
a dado blade. If I'd had another hundred I think I would have spent it on
a better blade. (If I had all the money in the world I'd probably get
that cool dial-in blade from Freud) But like I said, so far this one's
fine. It'll do till I have all the tools I need, and I begin the
"upgrade" process and start handing off stuff to my daughter and son-in-
law. :-)

Out of the box, there is no question, the Dadonator is a much better set.
One of the best dado sets I have used so far.
Here's a review if interested:

Hope that helps!

For less than $100, the Freud SD208 does a pretty good job. Available at
the Orange Borg, and elsewhere.
