Default double barrel cypress

i am sure this one has a lot of good looking turning stock
especially in that section where the barrels join

not to mention cutting for conventional use for intruments or furniture

Think he has a lathe large enough to turn that (500 lb) fork? There are easier ways of obtaining a sugar kettle size bowl.

Cypress is not so good for (musical?) instruments. It's too soft, not resonant, as other appropriate woods. Nor is it that good for jointed furniture. Again, it's too soft of wood for tight/solid, long lasting chair-type furniture jointery. It's soft for table tops, also, but lots of tables are made with it. It's great for cabinets, though. Lots of kitchen cabinets and similar projects are made with sinker cypress.
