OT - Thunderbird users in the group
Hey Guys:
Just switched over to Thunderbird after buying a new Windows 10 computer. So far, it's largely OK but I've discovered a couple of odd things that maybe other users might understand or have conquered already. BTW - I only use Thunderbird as a usenet reader. First is the my Sent folder only shows posts that I originate as a new topic, and not replies that I make to existing threads in a group. I've played with views but so far - no luck in getting that folder to show all of the posts I've sent. Second, When I do reply to a post I get the following Thunderbird message... "An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: mx02.eternal-september.org InterNetNews NNRP server INN 2.7.0 (20151029 snapshot) ready (posting ok)." That reply will actually post to the group, but as you can see, Thunderbird complains of a problem. Even though the reply posts to the group, it remains open in Thunderbird and when I force it closed, Thunderbird tells me it is not currently saved in my Drafts folder, and do I want to save a draft of the post. Don't understand why Thunderbird is even concerned for a mail server since it is not configured for mail - only usenet. Any help will be appreciated. -- -Mike- |
