Boston RedSox win World Series in 6 games over St Louis Cards.

A well played series by both teams.

If your favorite group of millionaire athletes won it was well played.
Other winners are beer vendors and pizza joints.

It wasn't a particularly well-played series, whoever one was rooting for
(if any).

Picked off 1st in bottom of 9th to end a game w/ tying run at the plate?

A scoring run on a maybe, maybe not obstruction call in 9th?

Dropped fly balls and multitude of other miscues??

No, not particularly well-played at all.

Not being a sports fan of any type, I enjoyed the series immensely,
strictly because all the errors kept you on the edge of your seat
wondering what the hell was going to happen next.

To me, a "well played" game on either, or both, side(s) is boring as hell.

Basically wanted SL to win last night, just so we could have another
game to watch before the interminable basketball bull**** took over the
airways.

Hey - as an Orangemen local, I'm supposed to resent that comment. But...
boy do I agree with you! Freakin' basketball season seems to just go on
forever.

In June to watch the quarter finals.

Baseball would be more interesting to watch if the World Series was
played in September. Its all about money. We have a twisted society
that pays athletes many millions of dollars to do what real sports
people do for free because they enjoy it. Yes, if offered, I'd take
the money too.

Actually, I was indeed rooting for Boston, just preferred, for purely
selfish reasons, a slower death for SL.

Wouldn't it be nice to have another World Series game to watch tonight?

Oh well. I played baseball, softball, and slo-pitch in fairly
competitive leagues until I was in my late 50s. Never any major
breakage; minor breaks and sprains, jams, and on. One night in
February, we were having a tough game. I hit a clean single to right,
saw the fielder bobble the ball and took off for second. Slid safely in
and had an immediately had a WTF-an-I-doing epifany. That kind of stuff
is hard on an incipient geezer. Cut back on number of league and all
tournaments and packed it in for good a year later.

I get plenty of non-competitive strength and aerobic exercise so I am
good. I never cared for watching a baseball game and still don't.
Maggy likes pro football so we catch 2 3 4 games a week. Life's good.

Hate to burst your bubble but these days most of the hockey teams are
in the US.

The Ducks and the Kings are less than a 30 minute drive from here.

Apparently they are losing less money.

A lot of Canadian teams moved to the US in hopes of improving the
bottom line, screwing the smaller Canadian markets that had supported
them for years in the process.

As a result, a lot of the schedule of Canada's national pastime ends
up being played outside of Canada.

It's too bad but the NHL ain't what it was.

Other than Quebec City, they have all come back, in one form or another.
The original six was Toronto, Montreal, and four in the US, nothing new
there.

Let's see:

Boston Bruins, NewYork Rangers, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Black
Hawks, St Louis Blues have been here forever.

That's more than four.G

Not sure about Philadelphia Flyers.

After that, The Islanders, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks,
Pittsburgh Penguins are all still here.

Not sure about Denver, Atlanta, Columbus, someplace in Florida as well
as Tennessee.

There is also the San Jose Sharks.

There are probably more, they just don't come to mind right now.

So who moved back?
