no one has a clue, eh?

Maybe the motor and fan have a use. I bought a new HF 1 HP dust
collector (? not at home to look it up now), replaced the upper bag with
a Wynn 1 micron cartridge, and put a garbage can with a vortex lid from
either Rockler or LValley in front of it. The garbage can does the job.

Well, it was probably $250 new or thereabouts.

The reviews I've seen tend to rate Penn State pretty well in comparative
air flow/unit hp as compared to the Jet, Delta, other low-end roughly
equivalent units.

Doesn't say the hp on this one; it's either 1-1/2 or 2 max I believe;
what can you get a new HF for--they get pretty good ratings here it
seems altho I don't know of a specific comparison against the Penn State
or others for ranking. I'd give this better odds of motor lasting a
while than I would a HF unit, though...
