Default Which table saw

Hi all,

Still trying to decide on a table saw, time is getting near to decide. My
choices a

-General International cabinet saw. 50-250 M1 It's priced at $1299 +
Shipping. What the difference between this cabinet saw, the General
350-T50 and the one above it at $1899?

-General Buliders Saw, AKA as a contractor saw, 50-175 M1, it's priced at
$649 + shipping.

-Grizzly industrial, 1023S. It's priced at $900 to my door.

Which one is the best saw for the money? Any other suggestions on a choice
of a table saw?

TIA,

Tony

Wow, that is a big spread. If you have the money, get the General 350 and
never worry again. The General is made in Canada, the General International
is made overseas. I have no idea as to the specifications or differences
though.

You mention Contractors saw. That is what I have (Delta) and it does
everything I've asked it to do. For most weekenders and hobbyists, it is
sufficient. I can cut 12/4 oak, but it takes me longer than it would with a
3 hp cabinet saw. I don't do enough of it to make a difference for my
needs. I paid about the same as the Grizzly 1023S. IMO, I have a better
fence setup but he Griz has been improved. Overall not a bad deal, but be
sure to add in the freight/tax for competing models for true comparison.

None of us can really answer your question as we don't know your intended
use, shop size of wallet size.

I was quite impressed with the demo I saw of the DW746K. Seems to be priced
around $1,470.

Hi Ed, the 350 was just comparison to the 250, not sure what the differences
are, besides the 250 is International, and the 350 is made in Canada. I
can't afford the 350, would have to stretch for the 250. Thanks for the
response.

Default Which table saw

Tony,

I am not familiar with the 1023S but I recently purchased a Grizzly G0444Z
which I am really impressed with. Although not a true Cabinet Saw, it runs
on 240V (or 120) and has a solid cast iron top which is comprised of the
main body plus two wings. I found that the wings were well aligned the
first time I installed them. In fact, everything was well aligned.

I had to go with a "Contractor" saw because I move frequently [no, not
running from the law : ) ] and a Cabinet Saw was too much.

Anyway, just my two cents.

Wr, Tim
