Cave Junction resident Raymond Karczewski was arrested Wednesday
September 19th after a violent crime spree upon his wife and a neighbor's pet goat. Karczewski, 69, used a bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey to penetrate his wife's vagina and rectum then beat her unconscious with it when she complained that it hurt. After brutalizing his wife, Karczewski then used the same bottle to molest and kill "Cranberry", a neighbor's pet goat. Karczewski was released on supervised home confinement Thursday pending a trial date. His wife Anita refused to press charges, insisting that her injuries were the result of a simple fall but could not reconcile how a fall would require 17 stitches to her vagina and 28 to her rectum. An assistant district attorney stated under conditions of anonymity that they wanted to keep Karczewski incarcerated but the evidence against him was weakened by his wife's statement. "We have the bottle and the dead goat, but the issue with the goat isn't very serious under Oregon law. His wife is working against us, freely or coerced, we have yet to determine."
