Rockwell metal wood cutting bandsaw motor starter upgrade
I have a old Rockwell metal wood cutting bandsaw the plate says model
28-30C, it originally had a ½ hp motor with an amp rating of 7.8/3.9. I need to upgrade the motor to a 1.5 hp which has an amp rating of 18/9. This saw has electronics on it for starting the motor, with overload protection, Rockwell single phase motor starter. It seems to have some "E" standard heater elements that are replaceable, so I'm thinking maybe these are the things that can be changed to handle a bigger motor. I do not know much about electronics, so would like to know if f the current electronics on it need to be upgraded to handle the new motor and if so where to get the parts. Any help appreciated, thanks. |
