As in, if you value you yours, reconsider that subscription.

I called up to ensure that my personal info wouldn't be sold, shared, or
otherwise distributed, before getting my subscription. I was assured
that it would remain private.

What happened was that they placed me on the "Don't E-mail" list and
sold my snail mail info. I was 1/2 a month away from getting my first
issue of the magazine, when I got my first piece of trash in the
mailbox. That tells me that the info was sold about the time my CC was
charged. No time was wasted.

Now I appreciate that they apologised for doing it, but that strikes
me as too little, too late. I've cancelled the subscription, but that
doesn't put the horse back in the barn.

Something for you to be aware of before you get a subscription.

Um, order anything from Harbor Fright, lately? When I did, I started
getting a bunch of crap in the mail. Now I'll have to move!

I also got (in 24 hours!) a 3/4" NTP tap from enco to fix the pipe
clamps I got from HF.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I get it....... My daughter's boyfriend bought me
subscription to Popular Science (because he saw a copy of one in my
office...errrmm... I seldom buy it..but..) for Christmas.
Since then, I have been getting 10-million dollar cheques, free cruises,
all kinds of mail....wow... people really are generous and they like me!!
They really, really LIKE ME!
