Default The "first Craftsman" house

For those in the NY/NJ/PA area, I want to
recommend a trip to the "Craftsman Farm"
in Morris Plains, NJ. This was the
home and farm of Gustav Stickley.

The tour lasts about 45 minutes and
probably the best $6 you'll spend
all year. The highlights are seeing
the ORIGINAL pieces of furniture
that are now widely copied.

A great place to visit if you're
a woodworker. One of the things
our docent did was to pull out
a box of types of joints used
in the furniture. Try to identify
them before reading the legends.

Also, have them point out the
dovetails in the ceiling moldings
in the upstairs bedrooms.
