Dust collector gates 01
This is a picture of my home made dust collector gates. They are 3
pieces, a 2" thick piece cut to the curve of the drum, with a hole cut to fit a 90 or 45 degree PVC el in the drum that forces the air in a circle so the heavy dust and chips fall along the sides of the drum, clean air is sucked out the middle of the lid by the dust collector. Then a 3/4 inch piece is cut to the same size with a tapered hole cut to fit the hose. Then, a 1/4" piece is cut to sandwich between, and a horse shoe is cut out the size of the holes. This is where the slide is made to cut off the air when not in use. Pretty easy to make and works perfect if you get the holes right. -- Jack http://jbstein.com |
