Default deep hollowing system

I think I've narrowed it down to either the Kelton or Jamieson deep
hollowing system for 10 to 16 in deep vessels..They are both close in price
when all the bells and whistles are included so I'd like the group's
opinion..Also,is John Lea still making captured hollowing systems.I tried to
e-mail him at his site but to date no response?

I'm using Kelton hollowers in a Jamieson rig. How's that for muddying the
waters? I really like the Kelton hollowers. The rig to hold them is less
important to me. I hold them in straight handles and a Stewart armbrace
too.

My only concern with the Jamieson is the laser setup..It doesn't look nearly
as substantial as the Kelton..Also with the large Jamieson bar the cutter
holder can twist under load..I must confess that at one time I had a
Jamieson rig but not a clue on how to use it..Lyle showed me at the Orlando
symposium(after I sold it) and I learned all the things I did wrong..I never
gave it a fair shake but Lyle was only working on a small piece at Orlando
and didn't have much hanging out..My problem was always vibration..

Our club hosted Lyle Jamieson this past weekend & to see him using his rig
to hollow a vessel with just two fingers guiding the cutter was a sight to
see.
After seeing that I think I'll go with the Jamieson rig.

Rick

I have the Kelton hollowing rig and stand by it as a substantial and safe
system.

I've done a lot of research and it looks like the Oklahoma Spin Doctor will
be the weapon of choice..I love the technology along with substantial size
and versatility..There are some good reviews of this product at the AAW
forums and of course Lyn..Probably place the order in the next couple of
days..I'll update all..Take care,Rick
